Just because you feel guilty— doesn’t mean you ARE guilty
Just because you feel fear— doesn’t mean you are in actual danger
Just because you feel worry, it doesn’t mean there’s something you should ACTUALLY be worried about
Feelings aren’t facts. They come from our thoughts… and habits… and the lessons we’ve been taught… and…….
Yes, many times our feelings/our gut IS right
There IS something we should feel guilty about or we ARE in a position of danger and fear is legit… or we truly are having life experiences that warrant worry, but often we’re feeling these feelings because of who we used to be, how we THINK we’re supposed to cope, or because worry makes us feel productive…..
Maybe those responses no longer line up with who we are today and it’s worth a new/different/redefined look?
(Don’t mistake this for me saying you shouldn’t trust your gut. I’m not. The gut knows. It’s our feelings that stem from our thoughts we need to check in with)
